Tomodo started in 2005, originally offering web design, graphics and some photography work. During college I studied photography at A Level and through that gained a huge interest in the art and technique of photography. In 2008 I bought my first digital SLR camera and started straight away getting out and taking photos of live musicians and bands. (already doing so before with just a compact camera) In 2009 I made upgrades to my kit and developed my skills further. This year I'm attemtping to take my work full-time, expanding my services to include portraits, video and web promotion.
I am different to most music photographers in that you'll often find me in places that other photographers are not. I also make sure I cover a broad range of music genres and types of venue. From mellow folk/acoustic performers to loud and wild metal bands. From open mics at your local pub to established music venues and theatres.
As for the photos I take I try to adapt my style to the style of the person playing, ranging from wide dramatic shots to close intimate shots. I'm a big fan of using natural light wherever possible, adding flash where neccessary. Again it's all about adapting to what I am shooting.
